Yn Couture is a design house where cut-and-sew items are made to order.

Yn Couture's Yn (pronounced "in") refers to a Japanese pronunciation for Yin and Yang's Yin.  This New York based design house named itself Yn because NNY believes that no matter how much a person is dressed well, what's important is the inner self.  A person is Yang (light), and outfits are Yin (shadow).  Yn, as being the shadow, helps to enhance individual's precious characters and supports ones with confidence.  YNC would never wear a person, but YNC would be worn. 

Yn also means rhyme in Japanese.  It gets lots of attention when worn..

About NNY

At the age of fifteen, Nana N Yoshida began designing and making her own clothes, and she has created every piece of her own wardrobe except knits since around the age of twenty.  She has never used a dress form; instead, she always uses her own body for draping. 

NNY left her home of Tokyo and ventured to New York in 1996.  Though she took a few advanced sewing courses at local schools, she has always been an autodidact.

Concentrating her skill on making of jeans and corsets, Nana N Yoshida is proficient in completing intricate projects in limited time.  She uses leather and fur in additions to fabric and vinyl, and believes that using fur should be acceptable only if it ends up being magnificent pieces of art that bring back life to it..
